Team Utah
TEAM UTAH consists of all entities within Utah working in a partnership with the Utah Sports Commission to improve the state through sports.
The Utah Sports Commission partners and coordinates with Convention and Visitor Bureaus, Chambers of Commerce, municipalities, sports organizations, venues and appropriate stakeholders to attract and host major summer and winter events that enhance Utah’s economy and image. This also includes working closely with the Governor’s Office and the Legislature. These partnerships are vital to achieving success in the sports marketplace.
Outdoor venues
900+ inches of snow & 300 days of sunshine
The State of Sport provides stunning venues in all four seasons. Northern Utah’s mountains receive 900+ inches of the “Greatest Snow on Earth”, creating the perfect setting for skiing, snowboarding, and sliding events. While Southern Utah’s desert climate brings approximately 300 days of sunshine with a backdrop that can’t be rivaled.

From venues built with the purpose of hosting the 2002 Winter Games to facilities playing home to professional teams, Utah provides world- class sites for every sporting event.
Utah's Olympic Legacy
Salt Lake City’s Winter Games engaged hundreds of thousands of spectators and over 2.1 billion global broadcast viewers. Since 2002, more than 90 international World Cup or World Championship events have been held here, United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee selected Utah as "America's Choice" for a future Olympic bid, and International Olympic Committee named Salt Lake City the Preferred Host of the 2034 Olympics and Paralympics.
Event Services
The Utah Sports Commission works with partners on bid development, volunteer coordination, sponsorship, event logistics planning, event promotion, and other related services.
The Sports Commission was chartered to manage the 2002 Winter Games legacy volunteer database. This valuable resource provides well-trained volunteers to support sporting events.
The Sports Commission has facilitated the creation of TEAM UTAH which consists of all entities within Utah working with the Sports Commission to improve the state through sports.
Through successful bid efforts with our TEAM UTAH partnering organizations, hundreds of events have been landed statewide, which have generated millions in economic impact to the state, many of which have been showcased to a national and international television audience.
