Team Utah

TEAM UTAH is made up of organizations and entities across the state of Utah, all working in partnership with the Utah Sports Commission to improve the state through sports.

The Utah Sports Commission collaborates with convention and visitor bureaus, chambers of commerce, municipalities, sports organizations, venues and other key stakeholders to attract and host major sporting events that drive Utah’s economy and elevate its global image. Additionally, the Sports Commission works closely with the Governor’s Office and the Legislature to ensure continued success.

900+ inches of snow & 300 days of sunshine

The State of Sport offers stunning venues throughout all four seasons. Northern Utah’s mountains receive over 900 inches of the 'Greatest Snow on Earth', providing the perfect setting for skiing, snowboarding, and winter sports. Meanwhile, Southern Utah’s desert boasts approximately 300 days of sunshine, with a backdrop that is truly unmatched.

Olympic & Paralympic Legacy

The Salt Lake City 2002 Winter Games attracted hundreds of thousands of spectators and more than 2.1 billion global broadcast viewers. Since 2002, Utah has hosted over 90 international world cup and world championship events. In addition, the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee selected Utah as America's Choice for a future Olympic bid, and the International Olympic Committee named Salt Lake City the Preferred Host of the 2034 Olympics and Paralympics.

The Utah Sports Commission collaborates with partners on bid development, volunteer coordination, sponsorships, event logistics planning, event promotion, and other related services

The Sports Commission was chartered to manage the 2002 Winter Games legacy volunteer database, providing well-trained volunteers to support sporting events

The Sports Commission facilitated the creation of TEAM UTAH, consisting of organizations across the state working in tandem to enhance Utah through sports

Through successful bid efforts with TEAM UTAH partners, thousands of events have been secured statewide, generating billions of dollars in economic impact

Since the 2002 Winter Games

Keeping Utah “ready, willing, and able”, the Utah Sports Commission teamed up on nearly 1100 sporting events across the state.
