Alpine & Nordic Skiing, Rocky Mountain Intercollegiate Ski Association
In 2022, on home snow at Park City Mountain and Soldier Hollow Nordic Center, the University of Utah Ski Team won its third consecutive and 15th all-time national championship. Its impressive dominance was led by two Olympic teammates, Sophia Laukli and Novie McCabe, who each picked up individual NCAA titles in the women’s Nordic races.
With these results, the University of Utah athletics has earned 29 team national championships, 15 of which are held by the ski team, and 112 individual, 80 from the program.
Utah also captured the regular season crown in the Rocky Mountain Intercollegiate Ski Association with 2,786 points. Throughout 2022, Utah skiers won 18 races—most in the RMISA and seven more than the next closest school, the University of Denver.
Fast forward to 2023, the Utes took their fourth consecutive team championship and four more individual national titles.
