BYU Cross Country Coach Ed Eyestone, a 1984 NCAA cross country champion himself, led the Cougars to their first-ever NCAA men’s division I cross country title dethroning Northern Arizona University who had won three-straight titles.
- Six athletes were named All-Americans
- For the second straight season, the Cougars were named Scholar Team of the Year by the U.S. Track and Field Cross Country Coaches Association
- The West Coast Conference named 13 Cougars to its Cross Country All-Academic Team
- USTFCCCA also named Eyestone as National Coach of the Year
- In 20 seasons at BYU, Eyestone has led the Cougars to 15 conference titles, including the 2019 West Coast Conference Crown
