Daniel Simmons
Cross Country and Track & Field, American Fork Cavemen
With back-to-back Player of the Year nods, Daniel Simmons is only the third two-time Gatorade National Boys Cross Country winner in program history. Simmons also holds the reigning titles for Gatorade Utah Player of the Year in Cross Country and Track & Field.
In 2023, Simmons set six course records while winning 10 races. The two-time individual and team Class 6A cross country state champion broke the 14:50 barrier five times last season, with four of those races occurring at high altitude.
The New Balance Nationals Outdoor 2-mile champion is the first high school male athlete in history to receive an NIL contract and will run for Brigham Young University starting this fall.
