Winter Games Return to Utah

Salt Lake City-Utah 2034 Olympics & Paralympics

On July 24, 2024, Salt Lake City-Utah was officially selected to host the 2034 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games. As the International Olympic Committee’s announcement echoed from Paris, a crowd of thousands in Washington Square erupted in joyous chants of “SLC! SLC! SLC!” and “Utah! Utah! Utah!”, relighting the Olympic flame.

This historic moment comes after a decades-long effort, from the formation of an exploratory committee in 2012 to the state’s selection as America’s Choice in 2018 and Preferred Host in 2023. The Games will return to a state that’s become a global sport and entertainment hub, with world-class venues and facilities that continue to shape Utah’s sport and Olympic legacy.

The countdown to 2034 has officially begun.
