25 skaters look to represent Team USA on home ice
The U.S. long track speed skating squad returns home to the Utah Olympic Oval for their fourth installment of the 2017-18 ISU World Cup circuit – the final country quota spot qualification event before the Olympic Winter Games PeyongChang 2018.
The long track roster in Salt Lake City features a larger group than previous World Cups due to extra spots assigned for hosting the World Cup event. The U.S. roster will feature 12 skaters with Olympic experience:

Over 200 skaters from 34 different countries will take part in the three-day competition. Racing in Salt Lake begins on Friday, December 8 and concludes on Sunday, December 10. Events on the schedule are: 500m, 1000m, 1500m, Team Pursuit, Mass Start, women’s 3000m and men’s 5000m.
Following the World Cup in Salt Lake City, the U.S. team will return to training in preparation of the U.S. Olympic Team Trials – Speedskating at the Pettit National Ice Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin from January 2-7, 2018.
