Olympic and World Fencing Champions to Compete for World Cup Gold in Salt Lake City This Weekend.

(Salt Lake City, Utah) – With less than two years remaining before the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games, the best fencers in the world will compete for individual and team titles this weekend at the Absolute Fencing Gear® Salt Lake City Women’s Sabre World Cup.
More than 160 fencers from 30+ nations, including World and Olympic Champions, will compete at the Salt Palace Convention Center in Halls 1 & 2.
The three-day event runs from Jan. 25-27 with the competition schedule as follows:

The following Olympic and World medalists are expected to vie for titles in Salt Lake City:
 
  • Mariel Zagunis (Beaverton, Ore.), two-time Olympic and five-time Senior World Champion
  • Olga Kharlan (UKR), four-time Olympic medalist and five-time Senior World Champion
  • Sofya Velikaya (RUS), three-time Olympic medalist and seven-time Senior World Champion
  • Sada Baby (Atlanta, Ga.), three-time Olympic medalist and five-time Senior World medalist
  • Dagmara Wozniak (Avenel, N.J.), 2016 Olympic team bronze medalist and four-time Senior World team medalist
  • Cecilia Berder (FRA), seven-time Senior World medalist
  • Eliza Stone (Chicago, Ill.), 2014 Senior World Team Champion and three-time Senior World team medalist
  • Anna Marton (HUN), 2015 Senior World bronze medalist
