Salt Lake City, UT
– With the return of Nitro World Games just a few weeks away, preparations for the third incarnation of the world’s premier action sports contest are starting to get under way. As anticipation builds, three of the biggest names in rallycross, Travis Pastrana, Ken Block and Tanner Foust will join Utah Governor Gary Herbert and Utah Sports Commission President & C.E.O. Jeff Robbins at the State Capitol on Thursday to preview the next evolution in action sports competition, coming to Utah Motorsports Campus on September 22 and 23.

Nitro World Games will once again draw the best athletes in action sports to Utah.  But 2018 will see the exciting addition of two new disciplines, Nitro Rallycross (NRX) and FMX Quarterpipe, which will only accelerate the progression of motorized competition. At Thursday’s event, Travis Pastrana will detail the advances that Nitro Rallycross will bring to the sport, which will feature a unique and innovative all-new track layout like no other, and reveal its groundbreaking course layout.

Pastrana will also unveil renderings of the jaw-dropping FMX Quarterpipe. This is a one of a kind, mechanical ramp that allows the degree of takeoff and landing to be adjusted. Standing 32 feet tall and 70 feet wide, this set up gives riders a massive area of operation and lets them push harder and shoot higher than ever before. At nearly double the size of anything else out there, this event is going to leave fans speechless as the world’s best FMX athletes attempt to break into new heights.

Joining Pastrana on Thursday are fellow champion drivers, and Nitro Rallycross competitors, Ken Block and Tanner Foust. Block and Foust will be available to offer their thoughts on the growth of Nitro World Games and what it means for action sports, as well as how they feel about on taking on NRX’s challenging course.
