Al Mansell

Utah native Al Mansell has been a driving force for decades in helping create the State of Sport.

As a longtime state senator, Mansell was a pioneer in recognizing the value that sport brought to Utah. When Governor Michael Leavitt was forming the Utah Sports Commission in 2002, Jeff Robbins called on Mansell for his leadership in helping to establish what would become one of the most successful sports commissions in America.

The former Senate president stepped up and provided visionary direction, opening up his network of relationships to further benefit sport in the state. He went on to serve key roles in Olympic Exploratory Committees and has left a lasting legacy to sport in Utah.
